HUMAN SUSTAINABLE ARCHITECTURE
A++ is an open way of thinking that encompasses today’s architecture and design environment and their cross interdependencies, cross disciplinary and cross cultural influences.
Royal Palm’s residential complex is located by the beautiful Seven Miles Beach, in front of the blue waters of the Caribbean Sea.
This building is designed with a green philosophy: the green string that starts from the ground floor, goes through the entire building and connects all the architectural spaces. The color green as the narrative element changes following its placing: public green as collective service, and private green as exclusive resident’s use.
The terrace is a peculiar yet recognizable architecture element. This project’s idea generates from a subtractive synthesis of a pure volume that insists on the whole lot. The large voids that generate terraces, courtyards and spaces that connect and separate according to their location. The string is immediately recognizable by the internal ramps that form an upward spiral, showing the building in its longitudinal development; a clear reference to the “promenade architecture” of Ville Savoye.
From the walk-on green roof, it’s possible to enjoy a magnificent view of the island. From this point we understand the choiches of landscape with different essences, the water levels opposed to the walkways that in turn relate to the continuous facades formed by large windows at full height.
All the blocks that form the building are enclosed by a chasing composed of brise soleil with a random scan; this randomness is opposed to the regularity of the structural mesh that marks the entire architecture both in the planimetric and altimetric development.
